We’re a small team who are all passionate about the benefits of technology for seniors, and we see it as our mission to help make technology relevant and engaging. Our diverse team comprises a wide range of experts with specific skills in the senior market whether they work in UX, developers, design, sales, marketing or customer service.
Breezie was founded in 2011 and started commercial sales, direct to consumers, in 2014. We shipped Breezies direct from our offices in Richmond. and through our direct customer contact, and our partnership with Age UK, we developed a deep understanding of the needs of seniors. Since 2015, we have been focusing on enterprise sales to senior living communities, home care services, skilled nursing and post-acute facilities.
We are an Aging 2.0 Academy cohort member 2014-15 and were pleased to welcome strategic investment from Ziegler Link•Age Longevity Fund, L.P. in March 2015. The Fund is one of the first to focus exclusively on aging market companies that provide innovative products, services and technologies to meet the growing needs of seniors and senior living providers in this changing era of healthcare reform.
Our board members bring with them a wealth of expertise in the senior living and technology markets and help advise on the strategic direction of the company.
Mike Parsons is our Chairman and also an investor in Breezie. Mike is an entrepreneur who founded an advertising agency that he eventually sold to Saatchi & Saatchi, thereby becoming a major shareholder in that company. He went on to found Barchester Healthcare, the UK’s leading care provider, building it into a billion-pound business that now cares for over 10,000 people at over 220 locations.
John Hopper is Chief Investment Officer at the Linkage Investment Ziegler Link•Age Longevity Fund, L.P. The Fund is the first to focus exclusively on aging market companies that provide innovative products, services and technologies to meet the growing needs of seniors and their care providers. The Fund invested in Breezie in March 2015.
Ian Nolan has three decades of experience in finance, private equity and investment management. An investor in Breezie, Ian started his career at 3i Group in 1987, becoming Chief Investment Officer in 2009, with responsibility for managing £10 billion of assets. He has a diverse range of global equity and debt investment experience that includes the infrastructure and alternative energy sectors. In 2012, he set up the UK Green Investment Bank, and was the Chief Investment Officer through 2014.
